RULES OF PLAY NOTE: These are provided as a suggestion only. This is to be an enjoyable outing every Tuesday!! The application of the rules or any modification to them is to be governed by the foursome with whom you are playing. For a detailed review of the rules see: http://www.usga.org/rules/index.html 1. Guys - play white tees, Ladies - play red tees. 2. Play the ball as it lies. 3. Record a maximum of 10 strokes per hole. (i.e. pick up if you have gotten to ten). 4. Record the actual gross score for each hole. Do not adjust for handicap, equitable stroke control etc. 5. Handicaps will be established and maintained pursuant to USGA guidelines and use of equitable stroke control. Course slope is 114 and course rating is 69. 6. Out of Bounds balls, and lost balls (not in a water hazard), play the provisional if you hit one (having taken your 1 stroke penalty) OR drop a ball as close to where the ball was last in play and take a 2 stroke penalty. DO NOT go back to the tee or to the location of the prior shot and re-hit. 7. Lost ball in a water hazard, find the point where the ball crossed into the hazard. Visualize a line from this spot to the pin. Drop a ball no closer to the pin but along this line and take a one stroke penalty. 8. Unplayable lies - a player can declare any ball unplayable. Take a drop within two club lengths no closer to the hole and a one stroke penalty. 9. Obstructions: take a drop within one club length from the nearest point of relief (both no closer to the hole) and proceed with NO PENALTY. Keep in mind that trees, shrubs, out of bounds stakes, hazard stakes are not obstructions, these are part of the course. If you move your ball from these you do so by declaring the ball unplayable per the previous rule. Cart paths, water fountains, sheds, cart path signs and ropes, sprinkler heads are obstructions. |
