The Programs of Bethany
Lutheran Church
“B.L.A.S.T. (Believing, Living, and Sharing Together)” Excepting a major holiday this youth group meets the second and fourth Sundays of the month from 6:30-7:30 and encompasses ages 5 through high school age. The format of the evening is as follows; an opening with songs and prayer, a fun craft that hopefully carries with it an Christian educational theme, and a time for games and a snack. “Teen
Ager’s Youth Group” is a group that does not have a fixed meeting time, but
schedules their time together around the educational and social events that they
plan, such as a movie discussion group, a trip to the baseball game, or a teen
social sponsored by the church.
“Literary
Ladies” is a group that usually gets together over lunch on the first Tuesday
of the month, though they often convene at different times to incorporate a
dinner or desert. These women choose a book a month of some significance and
read and discuss it together. Once
again, this is a perfect opportunity for informal relaxed Christian education
and discussion. The group usually
gathers for about an hour and a half.
“Bethany Golf League” On Tuesday evenings from Spring to early Fall members of Bethany gathers at 6:00 on a local golf course to enjoy the great outdoors and the game of golf (two of God’s finest inventions). While not too competitive this group manages to create a great atmosphere for fun and fellowship. The league is suited to beginners and more experienced golfers as well. “Men’s
Group” An informal men’s group is in the making at Bethany as well.
This group will convene in a social setting, or during a planned retreat
when necessary to discuss spiritual and familial issues that are particular to
being a faithful Christian male in this post-modern age.
